[edit] Data Output

Data files are saved for each participant in the nback\data\subnum directory. Columns of the .csv record one line per trial:

subnum,block,trial,dim1,dim2,nDim,n,isi,d1,d2,d3,d4,dotext,doaudio,dospatial,timestart,resp1,corr1,time2,rta,resp2,corr2,time3,rtb
nine,p1,1,consonants-av,none,1,1,3000,0,0,1,2,1,1,0,3202316,<lshift>,0,3202740,422,[<timeout>],1,3205066,2748
nine,p1,2,consonants-av,none,1,1,3000,0,0,4,3,1,1,0,3205322,<lshift>,0,3206181,857,[<timeout>],1,3208072,2748
nine,p1,3,consonants-av,none,1,1,3000,1,1,4,3,1,1,0,3208328,<lshift>,1,3210599,2269,[<timeout>],1,3211078,2748
  • subnum is given subject code
  • block is a block number (p for practice)
  • trial is a trial counter
  • dim1 is the first dimension
  • dim2 is the second dimensions (could be none)
  • nDim is the number of dimensions on that block
  • n is the backness
  • isi is the inter-stimulus interval in ms
  • d1,d2,are record design variables indicating are match/mismatch for dimension 1 and dimension 2
  • d3, d4 are stimulus design--indicating the level of the stimulus (number, letter, etc.) for dimension 1 and 2
  • dotext is 0/1 depending on use of text modality
  • doaudio is 0/1 dependent on use of audio modality
  • dospatial is 0/1 dependent on use of spatial modality
  • timestart is the trial start time in ms since the program began
  • resp1,corr1 are the response and correctness of the dimension-1 response
  • time2,rta are absolute and relative RT for response to dimension 1
  • resp2,corr2, are the response and correctness of dimension-2 response
  • time3,rtb are the absolute and relative response to dimension 2.
